Welcome Back!

Welcome back to all our members for what we hope is a very successful year of practice for you.

The year has started with the promise of some useful CPD opportunities for all members from new and beginning practitioners to our senior practitioners. Commencing with an interactive member forum in February, the seminars or workshops throughout the year will be heavily discounted or free for AACMA members. AACMA is committed to providing quality CPD at a bargain price for our members.

The innovative AACMA Professional Series of seminars and workshops will cover a variety of topics that are designed to improve your knowledge and skills to run an efficient and successful practice whether as a sole practitioner, in a multimodality clinic or as an employer.

There will be seminars and refreshers that will keep you up to date with CMBA guidelines and any changes to those guidelines.

In September/October, we will again host our Chinese medicine researchers who can present on the current research they are undertaking.

August 2nd – 4th  are the dates for AACMAC this year.

It will be in the heart of the Brisbane CPD at the Pullman King George Square.

The theme for AACMAC 2024 is "Ancient in Modern - Chinese medicine in the modern health scape" and the call for abstracts has already gone out.

AACMA Board & National Office News

The AACMA Board continues to work towards achieving Medicare provider recognition for Chinese medicine acupuncturists.

The AACMA Membership team continue to contact the few members who are no longer health fund compliant because they have failed to send in the necessary completed CPD for last year.

As the deadline set by the health funds for complying with the CPD requirements has passed, these members will be taken off the health fund provider lists by the health funds. This means their patients will not be able to claim private health fund rebates until the CPD cards have been completed, submitted and ratified. AACMA is just the CPD collection point for the health funds and in some cases, ratification by the health funds could take up to 2months for reinstatement as a health fund provider.

AACMA is part of the international collaboration – One Voice Big Evidence

Please check out the link to the One voice website and consider participating in the Low Bank Pain Initiative by downloading the App and filling in the necessary information on low back pin treatments that you do.

The aim is to collect data on 10,000 low back pain treatments worldwide using the WHO ICD-11 coding.

The App is very easy to use and no prior knowledge of the codes is needed.
