Happy Lunar New Year!

To all our members, our industry suppliers and our national office staff,  the AACMA Board wish you and your families good health and  success in a year filled with opportunities. Happy Lunar New Year!

Medicare Update

The Medicare Benefits Schedule Review Advisory Committee (MRAC) is currently reviewing the Medicare Benefits schedule including a review of allied health services accessible under MBS Chronic Disease Management arrangements.

As part of this review, the Working Group is considering if the list of eligible individual allied health providers for CDM should be expanded.

MRAC is an independent, clinician and consumer-led committee established to advise Government, as part of the MBS Continuous Review, on publicly funded services listed on the MBS.

AACMA made a submission to the Working Committee outlining the treatment benefits and cost effectiveness of acupuncture in particular for pain relief and for mental health disorders.

As a result, AACMA has been added to the stakeholder consultation list for this review.

Members will be kept informed of any developments or progress in this continuing campaign for inclusion into the Chronic Disease Management.
