Acupuncturist & Chinese herbalist position in busy, recently refurbished health clinic in Daylesford, Central Victoria, known as the"Spa Capital of Australia" and a 75 minute drive from Melbourne's CBD and an hour from the Western or Northern suburbs. Our town sees 35,000 weekly tourist visitors plus a stable and loyal local population who prefer our clinic over others in the area.
About the clinic:
Established 33 years ago, this is a popular rural health facility with both locals & tourism providers. It is a legacy clinic previously owned by a long-serving educator and founding member of the Chinese Medicine Board of Victoria. Maximum capacity is 12-14 patients per day which can be split between 2 half-day shifts or allocated entirely to one practitioner for a full day. Housed in an historic building from the gold rush, we have a well-stocked raw herb dispensary, powders and granules and range of high-quality supplements plus hydraulic massage table, professionally laundered linen, fine Dongbang needles, all moxa, heat lamps, cupping equipment, infection control gear, office & tea area are available for your use.
About the position:
Shifts are negotiable, starting from 1 or 2 half days a week, depending on your availability and proactive nature, you can increase to 3 days if you are a self-starter. Some clients will be allocated to you from overflow with additional onsite locum work to cover holidays, with reception & admin support.
Remuneration is by income split to be discussed at the interview. Commission bonuses for product sales are also included. Superannuation is paid as per ATO rules (10.5%). Clinical & case management support, advertising and practice building training are available for the right person who is willing to learn. If you are qualified in another modality you may also offer that service additionally to Chinese medicine. All costs are covered. All you have to do is turn up and work.
About you:
You have 2+ years experience, positive, abundant attitude, and willingness to learn.
Must be qualified, registered, hold PI insurance, first aid and association membership with eligibility for HICAPS.
Additional modality or proven ability to establish a client base quickly and efficiently will be an advantage. At least 2 industry references are required.
