AACMA Webinar: Treatment of Post-partum disorders with Classical Formulas and Dietetics
In this presentation, our presenter Tyler Rowe will discuss Post-partum disorders according to two key canonical texts - Zhang Zhongjing’s Shanghan Lun 傷寒論 ‘The Treatise on Cold Damage’ and the Jinggui Yaolue 金匱要略 ‘Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet’.
He will first illustrate the role of Xuefen 血分Blood Layer in Chinese Medical understanding and its influence on reproductive health. Then, after analysing the relevant passages from the classics, Tyler will discuss the diagnostic differentiation of the Jueyin 厥陰 Reverting Yin conformation and Chanhuo Bing 產後病Post-partum Diseases, their pathophysiology and treatment protocols. Including a focus on the Danggui 當歸Radix Angelicae Sinensis formula family, their ingredients, modifications and administration. This will be compared to other possible causes, similar illnesses, and their management.
Tyler will incorporate number of his case studies to illustrate how pregnancy related conditions can be accurately assessed and treated with classical herbal prescriptions and dietetics to achieve successful outcomes for our patients.

About Tyler Rowe
Tyler Rowe is classically trained Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He is an instructor and fellow with the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine (ICEAM) under Arnaud Versluys as well as a guest lecturer with the Institute of Neijing Research (INR) under David White. Tyler specialises in researching and applying practical applications of canonical medical texts in a contemporary environment.
