(Recording) AACMA Webinar with Rod Martin: Dealing with veterans - A complex patient cohort
Dealing with Veterans - A Complex Patient Cohort
How to work with a veteran - 500,000 listed Australia wide with huge variety of health conditions.
Veterans often face unique physical, mental, and emotional health challenges resulting from their service. Many veterans experience conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), chronic pain, and other service-related injuries that require specialized care. Understanding the military culture and experiences that shape a veteran’s perspective can foster better communication, trust, and rapport between health professionals and patients. By being knowledgeable about the specific needs of veterans, healthcare providers can offer more personalized and compassionate care, improve outcomes, and ensure that these patients feel understood and respected in the healthcare setting.
Rod Martin's experience working each and every day with the ex-military population has led to treatment protocols and networking to get results with an extremely complex patient cohort.
