When a practitioner decides to start a clinic, first of all they are starting a business. Successful businesses, even small ones, improve their success rate by starting with a business plan. This seminar on practice essentials will examine the fundamentals of starting a business from scratch. Attendees will learn about different business structures to suit their needs, and then step through a simple business plan structure. The business plan acts as a checklist and workbook to gather key information and strategy to foster success.

About the Presenter
Stephen Janz graduated in 1988 and joined the Australian Acupuncture Association board in 1991, serving as president in 1995-96. He has been active in a range of professional issues throughout his career. He was the chair of the policy committee to the inaugural Chinee Medicine Board of Australia, and he was the project manager and co-author of the Acupuncture Evidence Project. Stephen was awarded life membership of AACMA in 2017 and continues in private practice.
